Starting March 1, 2026, only property owners can establish new utility billing accounts in the City of Fort Lauderdale. Only accounts established after March 1, 2026, are impacted by this new ordinance; current tenant accounts remain unchanged unless service is disconnected. If service is disconnected, it can only be reestablished by the property owner. Once accounts are established by property owners, tenants can receive bills "in care of" the property owner.
Utility Billing will close early on Friday, August 28th, at 12:00 p.m. Payments can still be made online or over the phone during this time. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Utility Billing will reopen during regular business hours on Monday, August 31st, at 8:00 a.m. Thank you for your understanding.
